Presentation of the 26th Issue of the Journal Georgian Source-Studies
Abstract
On March 21, 2025, the 26th issue of the academic journal Georgian Source-Studies was presented at the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Institute of History and Ethnology. The event brought together scholars, students, and representatives of academic institutions. Co-editor-in-Chief Prof. Dr. Mariam Chkhartishvili opened the event with an overview of the journal’s development, achievements, and ongoing challenges. Dr. Valeri Vashakidze followed with a speech highlighting the journal’s academic reputation and its inclusion in the ERIH PLUS database. Co-editor Dr. Zurab Targamadze presented the contents of the new issue, emphasizing notable studies, newly published translations, and significant archival materials. Editorial board member Sopio Kadagishvili discussed the importance of the journal’s thematic sections and their contribution to Georgian historiography. A key announcement concerned the journal’s recent integration with CrossRef, which will enable each published article to receive a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) — a step that enhances the journal’s visibility and accessibility in the international scholarly community. The event concluded with the distribution of the new issue, presentation of branded materials, and introduction of its digital version. Attendees then gathered for an informal reception hosted by the editorial team.Downloads
